December 3rd - Sharing Pilgrim's Progress

I was in the hallway and noticed an older lady and small child looking at the mural and asking questions. I initiated conversation and the lady said that she had been reading the questions and songs in the cafeteria and was intrigued. So I was able to share with them the story of the book "Pilgrims Progress". They both seemed very interested. I then asked the lady if she would like a copy of the book to read and she eagerly replied, “yes!” She said she would give it back after she was done with it and I introduced myself. She said that she was an 8th grade teacher at Catalyst Circle Rock School and was looking for a book for her classroom's read-aloud, but was hesitant to read that story because it was religious. I told her it was an allegory and the names of God and Jesus are never used explicitly. She smiled, clutched the book to her chest and said, “I just found my read-aloud. 2 chapters a day!” Praise God that now the 8th graders will hear the story!!!!!!!!!

November 24th God-Spot

I just had to share this story with you! Our theme for this week is: Loved and Forgiven. The verse is Romans 8:39: Nothing at all can separate us from God’s love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done for us.” One of the 1st grade boys today, D, said a lot of curse words while playing in the gym. After I talked with him and how King’s Kids don’t say those words (he then asked me seriously, “then can only mommies and daddies say them?”) and how when King’s Kids make wrong choices they have to do what they can to make it right, he apologized to the whole class and asked for their forgiveness (that was very big for D, but he did it!). His class accepted his apology. Afterwards, J, a 2nd grader, came to me and said, “Miss Jackie, our King still loves D even though he said all those curse words because nothing can separate him from God’s love.” I affirmed him and gave him a BIG hug!!!

It still gives me chills when I write this – God is really at work!!!! Just had to share that with you. That’s my Godspot today.
